Janice was born in Montreal, Quebec. She graduated from College Marie de France in 1998. She then studied at Marianopolis College and graduated with Honours in 2000 with a D.E.C. in Health Sciences. From there, she studied at Concordia University in Biochemistry. She was a member of the Institute for Co-operative Education, working in various fields and obtaining experience in such areas as bio-analytical and biophysical chemistry. The topic of her Honours thesis with Dr. Joanne Turnbull was “Purification and Characterization of the Stability of ?20 Recombinant Prephenate Dehydrogenase from Aquifex aeolicus.” Currently, Janice can be found working at McGill University, as part of the Moitessier research group and towards a Ph.D in Organic Chemistry. In her spare time, she enjoys editing science articles and baking cakes.
